Dane: The Lords of Satyr by Elizabeth Amber is a very interesting book. The story is very erotic and I was introduced to the world of the Satyr species. The main characters are Dane and Eva. Both are Satyr's but Eva has kept her true identity a secret because it is extremely rare for a birth of a female Satyr.
Dane requests the services of Eva's matchmaker services. He needs to find a wife so he doesn't get sent back to their land. This sparks the attraction between the two. What makes the situation so interesting is Dane has a multiple personality disorder. Eva has a special skill that reads a persons aura which helps her distinguish which person Dane becomes when he is with her. Dane fights for control mostly during sexual encounters with Eva.
Dane's personality disorder stems from when he and his brother was kidnapped as a child. Dane managed to get away but his brother couldn't. He is still troubled by being kidnapped and blames himself for the entire thing and not being able to free his brother as well.
This book has some very interesting and erotic scenes. The male Satyr species are indeed one of a kind (got to read to find out!) You won't be disappointed! I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading about the brothers.

Alison Richardson
Story #1: The Countess Client by Alison Richardson
Loved this story. It's about a widowed Countess named Anna who was sent to live with her cousin for a while. Now she is no saint and her biggest worry is being with a man who will brag and ruin her virtue. She goes to a brothel with her cousin (a weekly visit for him) just to see what it's like. She continues to go weekly until one Thursday the one man that all of the women hate to entertain arrived. Anna asked questions to find out exactly what was wrong with him when in fact the only thing was that he didn't spend extra money or talk to the women. It was a wam bam thank-you ma'am for him. So Anna thought this would be perfect for her and not risk her virtue.
James was in town for business but Anna gets to him like no other woman. She enjoys the sex. He loves the way she talks and he calls her Duchess even though he doesn't know her identity. He requests her week after week and slowly starts to show Anna the true man he really is. Anna begins to look forward to their time together. Eventually James wants Anna to move in with him and that's when things get crazy. James finds out who she really is. Anna is afraid he will tell everyone. During a demonstration she called him out on his abilities to hypnotize and to prove himself he actually hypnotizes her and she proceeds to do perform sexual acts on him. Down right scandalous! She comes across a letter some time later which describes the events of that night. The only downside is the two don't live happily ever after but it was a very good story.
Story #2: Devoured by Letty James
Marco is a famous chef and Christine is a real estate agent. Christine's ex is a sous chef at Marco's restaurant. Marco has had a thing for Christine since the moment he laid eyes on her but he never made any advances until now. Marco's M.O. is to have Christine sell his house. He asks her to come over to do her inspections but to also seduce her. The terms of the agreement: The house for one night of pleasure. The two have mind blowing sex even though Christine doesn't believe he will give her the house. Before he leaves to go to another country they promise to pick up where they left off. While he was gone he kept to his word. He gave her the house. His banker called her to sign the papers and give her the key. She couldn't believe it. But the sweet part is, Marco wants to spend his life with her and this was his way of proving it. He had not intentions of moving out but to have her move in. When he comes back and finds her still at her place he goes over and asks what she is doing, why is she not at the house. When he made his intentions known the two made up. This story ended in a happily ever after. Very sweet story with hot eroticism.
Story #3: The Dreamer by Kate Austin
This story is about a lady who has a one-night stand with a man that was so incredible that she can no longer orgasm with anyone else or herself. I would give this story 3 out 4 stars. She explains in detail what happens when she tries with someone else and when she tries by herself. She also gives blow by blow details of her one night stand. She's becoming depressed about the whole situation but just when she was ready to give up....he shows up at the diner where they met. I liked how that story ended.
Story #4: The Pirate's Tale by Grace D'Otare
It's a tale being told to her husband who has a thing for the boots she has on. He calls them pirate's boots. The characters of the story is the Pirate Captain and Gertrude. The captain has just wed Gertrude. He leaves her a set of keys but forbids her to use one of them. Gertrude being who she is goes door to door to see what is in each room. When she comes to the forbidden key which is the Captain's parlor, she takes the chance and opens the door. What she sees startles her. The captain was completely dry when he should have been wet from the bath he had just taken and he did not look the same. He looked wary and worn down. The maid was slender when clearly she should have been pregnant which Gertrude saw the baby bump earlier. She figured there must be some kind of magic going on this room because she know what she was seeing could not be possible. The maid and the captain have sex. He is still in mourning of losing his wife.
While they were having sex Gertrude gasps and the captain hears her. He looks up and straight into her eyes which startles her. She takes off to the room but forgets the keys an leaves the door open.
Gertrude decides to take another chance to get the keys and lock the door. When she gets back to the parlor she realizes something else entirely is going on. She looks in the room and realizes its daylight but when she looks at the rest of the house its clearly night. This time its the captain and Jack the captain's first mate. Jack is trying to get the captain to get over yet another wife who left and the two end up having a brawl. Eventually the captain pins Jack then things get sexual between those two. Gertrude makes another sound which the captain hears and makes eye contact with her again. Gertrude freaks out and tries to lock the door with the key but it wont lock.
The captain opens the door and asks what she is doing. Gertrude realizes that now the room and the captain are how it should be. The two have a small altercation which ensues to sex. Afterwards she asks about the key and find out that her Superior gave him that key and it was impossible to use it to open his door. He confessed that he has seen her in visions in the parlor and knew he had to have her when he saw her in the flesh. She promises to stay.
I really loved this story. I would like to read a part 2 of it. It was very entertaining and erotic. I give it 5 out of 5 stars!
Story #5: Acting the Part by Eva Cassel
This story is about two actors making a movie together. The chemistry between the two is steadily building and it's just a matter of time before they screw each other's brains out. The sex scenes are becoming more risque. The director asks them to do a real sex scene but promises to make it not look like porn. The two agreed and can I say WOW! That was some sex scene! The author really builds the attraction and chemistry between them. The things that take place during the love scenes that are discreet to the camera crew will make you feel like a voyeur. I also give this story 5 stars.
Story #6: Her Lord and Master by Jennifer Dale
This story could and should have been a book on its on. It felt more like a love story to me. I wanted Molly and her Lord Ashford to live happily ever after but its not at all how it ends. Even though I knew that she couldn't publicly be with her Lord Ashford and he admitted that fact himself I wanted those two to be together. Molly becomes the Lord lover and personal maid. He teaches her all of the pleasures of sex but he lacks affection. Will gives her the affection that she needs and is the reality of her life. In the end Will asks the Lord Ashford for Molly's hand in marriage. The Lord Ashford gives Will his blessing. But the sweetest, most touching part of this story was the end. Lord Ashford tells Molly he has never asked her if she cared for him. Molly confesses that she has loved him since the moment she laid eyes on him. The look he gives her proves just how much he did care for her. On the day of her wedding he gives her a purse with 500 pounds.
I was crying by the end of this story. It was so sweet and touching. I wanted to be mad at the Lord Ashford. I wanted him to be an evil man. But he wasn't. Although he couldn't wed her, he cared for her. And lusted her body! But he cared enough to let her go and to let her have the true happiness that she really deserves. It just goes to show that although we want that fairytale, in the end choosing reality is the best choice.
I'm tearing up just thinking about this story. Absolutely positively 5 out of 5 stars!
May 26, 2011 - Part II of Review
Story #7: Mirror Mirror by Amanda McIntyre
This story was too dark and creepy for me. The sex scenes were pretty good. All in all I just couldn't enjoy it. It's about a woman married to a man bound to a wheel chair that likes to watch his wife have sex with the men he hires since he can no longer have sex with her. There are cameras through out their two homes. The woman likes to have sex with this one man in particular who turns out to be crazy. He plans to kidnap her for ransome but kill her in the end. Although the wife is rescued and there is a happy ending, I just did not like the darkness of this story. It didn't seem to fit with the rest of the stories in the book.
Story #8: Reason Enough by Megan Hart
This was a good story. If you've read any of Megan Hart's book you should have a pretty good idea what you will encounter. A lot of personal/family psychological issues. The story is about a married couple which the wife isn't sure if she's ready to have a baby. The husband is but he doesn't push the issue. What I absolutely love about the story is that there is no drama between the couple. The husband doesn't pressure her. They have a very active, sensual, erotic sex life. A lot happens with both of their families that eventually makes the wife realize that the love they share is reason enough for her to have a husband.
Story #9: The Flower Arrangement by Adelaide Cole
Now this was a naughty story. Perfect for this book. It's about a young lady that wants to open a flower shop who becomes a live-in maid to earn the money. The man of the house propositions her: pleasure for money (he's married of course!) The sex progresses to so-so to down right wicked! This story was light and erotic though shorter than all of the other stories but very enjoyable!

Recipe for Temptation by Maureen Smith
Here's another review of my favorite author. Recipe for Temptation is book two of the series of the Wolf men. Be on the look out for my review of book one. That book was smoking hotttt as well. The story takes place in Atlanta. The main characters are Reese St. James, an obstetrician and Michael Wolf, a famous chef.
Reese is taking a hiatus from work due to her first and only patient dying during birth. She decides to go to Atlanta to house sit for a friend for the next two months. One of the first places she goes to is Michael's restaurant, Wolf's Soul. She is a huge fan of his cooking show Howlin Good. The attraction between them is instantaneous. Reese asks for Michael to give her a ride home but before leaving one of Michael's staff tells him Reese is the food critic Randi St. James. This infuriates Michael but he decides to not say anything right away. Needless to say Michael makes a complete fool of himself of Reese's anger sparks his all over again. Reese is selected as one of the contestants for his cooking show and Michaels tries to talk Reese out of competing. Reese refuses to turn down the opportunity to win $100,000 along with being his apprentice. Michael tells her there is no way in hell he will let her win the competition.
The audition was very entertaining. I enjoyed reading it so much. It was laugh out loud funny. Sparks were flying and Reese's charm and comedic performance was a hands-down winner for the staff. Michael warned them that his show would get out of hand due to the attraction but the staff teased him. In the end, Reese won the competition.
Reese had a boyfriend back home that she was unsure of her future with. When Michael found out he was hurt and angry. When they were at his parents house it was his brother Marcus who told him that Reese wasn't married and he should still pursue her if he really wants Reese to be apart of his life. Michael took his advice and the fires of lust burned!!! Eventually Reese got around to officially breaking up with the other guy.
This book is deeply romantic. I love the scene when Reese and Michael are dancing at the reception. How gentle he is with her. I also love the scene when Michael realizes he finally got a full night's sleep the first night Reese spends the night with him. All of his life he had been a fitful sleeper up until having Reese in his bed with him.
Maureen Smith does an excellent job leading you into knew scenes and discovery of romantic moments. I love all of the character's in this book and you get a glimpse of the characters for the next book.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!!!!! Simply excellent!

Unveiled by Courtney Milan
Wow. I mean really....WOW! I didn't think I would like this book but I fell head over heels in love with it. Really fell in love! This is my first book by Courtney Milan and I can't wait to get my hands on the next story of this series.
This is a historical romance dated in the 1800s. The main characters are Ash Turner and Anna Margaret Dalrymple. Ash stole the dukedom from Anna's brother to get back at their father. When Ash was younger his sister became terminally ill and he walked miles to the Duke of Parford to ask for help. Ash is the fifth cousin of the Duke. The Duke refused to help and his sister died. Ash was able to strip the dukedom because he proved the Duke was a bigamist which declared Anna Margaret and her two brothers illegitimate. This made Ash next in line to become Duke.
Anna Margaret tried her best to despise Ash. But Ash is a charmer. He has such a way with words and reading people that it is extremely difficult for anyone to dislike him. Ash is tall, handsome, well built with bronze skin. He's defiant. He is not accustomed to the familiarites of being in such a prestigious position. He enlists the help from the workers at the manor to learn the ways of a Duke and he is determined to succeed. His biggest weakness is he cant read and the first person he ever tells is Anna Margaret. Although he can't read, Ash still found a way to be a very wealthy man and to support his two brothers. Everything he does is done for his brothers benefit. He loves them dearly.
Anna Margaret is slowly discovering her self with the help of Ash building her confidence and self worthiness. She is torn between her loyalty to her brothers and her growing respect and attraction to Ash. When he reveals he can't read to her she realizes that this information alone could take away the dukedom from him and given back to her brothers. But she chooses not to disclose this information.
The love, respect, and loyalty Ash and Anna have for eachother and their family is touching and real. It's a struggle to choose between love and family. What Anna Margaret realized in the end is that her loyalty to her family was not given in return. She chose family over Ash. Ash chose her over his family because he saw how much he and her brother was hurting her. But Anna's brother told her that he was going to leave her illegitimate just to get the dukedom. That's when she realized that a man like her brother didn't deserve such a title. So she went to Parliament and asked them to vote in Ash's favor.
I felt like a fly on a wall reading this book. I felt as if I was transported back to a time when I didn't even exist. This book kept me interested from page one. The supporting characters were well written and prepares you for the upcoming novel which features Ash's brother Mark. Mark is living a life a chastity so I can't wait to find out if he holds out until marriage or he finally meets his weakness and give over to temptation.
Can't wait for Mark's story!

Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James
If you like reading a good cowboy story then this is the book for you. This is a series on the McKay family that is made up of primarily men. It's very rare for a girl to be born in this family. I enjoy reading books by Lorelei James because they are funny and extremely erotic. She makes you want to leave the city life and go find you a cowboy!
The main characters are Cord McKay and AJ Foster. AJ has had a crush on Cord since she was a little girl and now that she is all grown up she plans to get what she wants. That's Mr. Cord McKay. Cord has been through a divorce and has no intentions of getting involved with a woman period. He just wants to do his job on the ranch and raise his son.
AJ gets bold and literally calls him chicken for not taking the opportunity to spend a night with her. Once Cord takes her up on the offer, the two have some seriously mind blowing sex. Cord is the demanding type in bed. Oh and I forgot...AJ is a virgin. The two agreed to have a purely sexual relationship but as time goes on, AJ wants it all. She wants Cord to admit that he loves her and doesn't want to be with her only because it is convenient. In the end Cord proves to AJ that he really loves her.
What I also love about the book is the supporting characters. You get a glimpse of the people who will be the main character in the next book. The McKays are wild men and some of the things they do takes eroticism to a whole new level.
I've read most of the books from this series and have not been disappointed at all. This is a very good and entertaining read.

A Legal Affair by Maureen Smith
This book introduced me to the world of romance novels. Needless to say Maureen Smith instantly became one of my most favorite authors of all time. I love, love, love A Legal Affair! I've read it so many times and yet I still feel breathless and walk around thinking "I want a man like that" after reading it. She nailed it for the ladies who love a man with that intense quiet sexy as hell confidence. A true gentlemen indeed.
The story takes place in San Antonio, Texas. Maureen Smith describes this place so well that we can imagine ourselves walking downtown hand-in-hand swooning. The main characters are Daniela Roarke and Caleb Thorn. Daniela and her brothers own a private investigative agency. Caleb is a law professor. Daniela's job is to go undercover as a law student and befriend Caleb to gather information on his father.
The chemistry between the two started before they even laid eyes on each other. Daniela was instantly attracted to the sound of the man's voice as she was walking towards the lecture room. But the moment they did see eachother the attraction was instant. Maureen Smith described the moment perfectly. The run-ins they have with eachother in the beginning is just bone melting. Caleb has this cool quiet demeanor but its his eyes that give away the want and passion he's trying his best to hide. Things come to a head at the art gallery after Caleb sees an old friend flirting with Daniela. The two have words that turns into an explosive kiss.
The time the two spend together is fun and romantic plus the sex is jaw dropping, seat squirming, "I want me a Caleb" HOT! The scene at his dad's home was so romantic and intimate. The way Caleb is with Daniella; the way he talks and looks at her is so touching. He openly shows his love and affection for her. What woman doesn't crave that?!?
The scene when Caleb finds out Daniella's true identity was just heartbreaking. I was crying with Daniella. But over time Caleb realized after having a heart-to-hear with his father that Daniella was the only woman he will ever love. So Caleb went and got his woman!
I encourage everyone to read this book and if you don't love it as much as I do then we seriously have to get your romance meter checked. This book is hot, hot, hot!

The Mane Attraction - Shelly Laurenston
I love Shelly Laurenston books. I love to read a book that makes me laugh out loud one minute and squirming from the sex scenes the next. One of my most favorite is The Mane Attraction.
The Mane Attraction features Mitch Shaw a lion shifter, and Sissy Mae Smith a wolf shifter. These two have been best friends for quite some time. They love pranks and getting into trouble. What's so interesting about the two is Mitch is a lion, hence, king of the jungle and Sissy Mae is the alpha female of her pack. Mitch is content with Sissy Mae being dominant publicly but in bed he makes it perfectly clear who is in control.
Mitch is an ex-cop with a huge bounty on his head to prevent him from testifying in court regarding a case he went undercover. The book begins with the wedding of Bobby Ray Smith to Jessica Ann Ward. Bobby Ray and Sissy Mae are siblings. The wedding scene was hilarius. Mitch is entranced with Sissy Mae's ass. Sissy Mae is litterally running all over the place to avoid her mother. Mitch is running away from Sissy's brother because of one of his pranks. All the while, Mitch is being extremely charming and "one of the girls" which just pisses Bobby Ray off. It's so much going on you'll just find yourself laughing out loud.
After the wedding an attempt is made on Mitch's life. Sissy Mae decides to take him to her hometown until they find out who it is that was hired to try to kill him. Fortunately, Sissy Mae's parents are out of town so she doesn't have to deal with her mother for a while. While Mitch is healing he is really enjoying Sissy Mae's cooking and becoming the cocky confident lion that a Shaw should be. Sissy Mae finally recognizes the attraction between them and being the alpha she is, she jumps his bones. Mitch gives her the surprise of her life when he takes control and makes her lose her mind and body completely.
Eventually most of the characters from the previous book head to Sissy's hometown. Sissy Mae gets cornered by her ex and he tries to claim her. There's a car race with Sissy Mae and the girls and a football game with Mitch and the boys. Then the attacker finds Mitch but with the help of Sissy Mae everything turns out wonderful.
The entire book just flows well. There was a perfect balance of action and focus on Mitch's and Sissy Mae's relationship. It's one book that you will definitely pick up and read over again!
