Here's another review of my favorite author. Recipe for Temptation is book two of the series of the Wolf men. Be on the look out for my review of book one. That book was smoking hotttt as well. The story takes place in Atlanta. The main characters are Reese St. James, an obstetrician and Michael Wolf, a famous chef.
Reese is taking a hiatus from work due to her first and only patient dying during birth. She decides to go to Atlanta to house sit for a friend for the next two months. One of the first places she goes to is Michael's restaurant, Wolf's Soul. She is a huge fan of his cooking show Howlin Good. The attraction between them is instantaneous. Reese asks for Michael to give her a ride home but before leaving one of Michael's staff tells him Reese is the food critic Randi St. James. This infuriates Michael but he decides to not say anything right away. Needless to say Michael makes a complete fool of himself of Reese's anger sparks his all over again. Reese is selected as one of the contestants for his cooking show and Michaels tries to talk Reese out of competing. Reese refuses to turn down the opportunity to win $100,000 along with being his apprentice. Michael tells her there is no way in hell he will let her win the competition.
The audition was very entertaining. I enjoyed reading it so much. It was laugh out loud funny. Sparks were flying and Reese's charm and comedic performance was a hands-down winner for the staff. Michael warned them that his show would get out of hand due to the attraction but the staff teased him. In the end, Reese won the competition.
Reese had a boyfriend back home that she was unsure of her future with. When Michael found out he was hurt and angry. When they were at his parents house it was his brother Marcus who told him that Reese wasn't married and he should still pursue her if he really wants Reese to be apart of his life. Michael took his advice and the fires of lust burned!!! Eventually Reese got around to officially breaking up with the other guy.
This book is deeply romantic. I love the scene when Reese and Michael are dancing at the reception. How gentle he is with her. I also love the scene when Michael realizes he finally got a full night's sleep the first night Reese spends the night with him. All of his life he had been a fitful sleeper up until having Reese in his bed with him.
Maureen Smith does an excellent job leading you into knew scenes and discovery of romantic moments. I love all of the character's in this book and you get a glimpse of the characters for the next book.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!!!!! Simply excellent!
